Surprised at how comfy I felt

I was a bit hesitant to try a winter weight because I live in Texas. But I do run a bit cold and when I learned that you needed reviews of the new winter weight full-zip hoodie, I jumped in. I was planning to wait and take my sweater on our vacation to London (and still will!) but we had an unexpected cold snap and the timing was perfect to give it a run! The sweater was very warm! Sleek profile when zipped made it more stylish (but I did miss having pockets for my cold hands). I found the Material soft but a bit itchy which reduced over the week. It’s definitely a layering piece for me. My college daughter also loves the hoodie, so I foresee one in her future as well! I was surprised at how comfy I felt, even in 70-80 degree weather (as long as I had a thin base layer. The hoodie was comfortable and soft. Very much like a soft hug! After a week I had zero pilling and the sweater still looks brand new. Now hubby (who runs even colder) also wants one! That’s a huge selling point in itself!!

Very pleasant texture

The fit is excellent, better than I hoped for. Sleeves long, but that's preferred. Can easily fold back the cuff to tailor to desired length. Also like the body length. Bottom falls to mid hip. It's 'just right' in terms of girth - not at all bulky, slimming yet not tight. Moves with you. Completely non-binding and comfortable. Easily slips on over a medium weight shirt. The feel was another surprise. I fully expected the fabric to be soft and snuggly. And it is, but the weave has an unexpected, very pleasant texture with a low nap. I suspect that over time this low nap will mean less pilling. The color (navy) is lovely. A deep, deep heather navy. I will wear it with my normal daily clothes of jeans and sweats but would also pair well with casual skirts. About 20 years ago I came across sweaters made from yak fiber in a store in Victoria, British Columbia and fell in love with the feel. I couldn't afford one then but never forgot the luxurious feel and durability of the fabric. Recommendations - add a cinch to the hood. I realize this would mean creating a seam, but well worth it. A hood without a tie is almost useless to me. I'm also a HUGE fan of pockets. I broke my cardinal rule never to buy a jacket/sweatshirt/pants without a pocket when I purchased this. And I'm not a fan of patch pockets. They remind me of my grandmother's sweaters. I like my pockets on the side seams. So, don't see that being engineered easily on a garment without seams. But definitely a design goal worth pondering.
