All of our knitwear is made on-demand in Brooklyn, New York. We're passionate about being part of the solution to reduce waste, which is why we make our products on-demand. This means that your sweater doesn't sit around for months before it reaches you - we start working on it as soon as you place your order!
Since we're creating each piece just for you, it may take a bit longer to receive your order than with traditional fashion brands. On average, it takes 3-6 days to knit your sweater after you place your order, and then shipping can take 2-5 days. But we promise it will be worth the wait! Our slow fashion approach means you're getting a high-quality product that's good for the planet too.

Our sweaters are a timeless design meant to last in your closet. If your Oliver Charles sweater becomes damaged from holes, snagged threads, or pilling at any time, send it back and we'll restore it to the best of our abilities!

How does Yak compare to Merino or Cashmere?
Yak Wool Vs Merino: Yak and merino are extremely similar, yak is almost like a super version of merino. A little more antimicrobial, a little more thermoregulating, a little softer, and a little more expensive.
Yak Wool Vs Cashmere: Yak wool is often considered a sustainable alternative to cashmere. It’s soft like cashmere and easy to care for, unlike cashmere. It’s also 30% warmer and 2x more breathable than cashmere.
Will it pill?
Pilling is the natural process that occurs when the shorter natural wool fibers work their way to the surface of a sweater.
Pilling is normal and expected with any wool piece of clothing, but fear not because there is a tried and true method to manage pilling.
The first thing you should do is wash your sweater after the first 4 wears. Throw your sweater in the wash with a pair of jeans, just make sure to close the zippers. Over time, shorter fibers causing pilling will pull away on their own.

I live in Buffalo on a farm and I was surprised how warm this sweater is. The fit is perfect for me. I love the color it goes with most everything. I usually wear it with jeans and an outdoor vest so I am able to be warm and still be free to do things without feeling bundled up. I am surprisingly warm even on cold windy days. I also like to wear it with dress pants for a nice evening out

I wear mine on cold days as an undershirt rather than over a shirt. It feels great and soft on the skin. It's light enough that there's no bulk, just soft warmth. I've worn it many times this winter and have not felt any need to wash it. Wish I could afford several!

The “Problem” I foresee with the Winter Crew Neck is that it is going to make most of the rest of my wardrobe obsolete. It is so comfortable, well fitting, and ultimately simply stylish that I am having trouble wearing anything else. The fact that it is of environmentally sustainable and ethically sourced material makes it an even more responsible and appropriate investment. And my sense is that it will last Forever. The most amazing feeling sweater without any of the itchy, scratchy aspects of wool. Love the way it hugs the body and provides a sense of perfect temperature all around. Oh, and teal is the perfect color!! Go try this out for yourself!

It's early as I've only had 3 wears so far. I think the true test requires at least one season of wear. Thus far in terms of initial quality and appearance its thumbs up. It does not look much different than other sweaters. One interesting detail is the lack of seams, which is due to the 3d printing. No pilling is evident, and it has a nice feel to the hand. Since I've worn this over a shirt and with a T-Shirt, I've noticed no itch. In comparison with higher end sweaters like Dale or Holebrook it does not have the same heft. This seems more like an ordinary wool sweater. Overall I like the sweater. IMHO, the use case here is an inside sweater for the office or casual wear.

The fit is very flattering and slim, the fabric is soft, but seems sturdy enough to survive abrasion from normal wear, the blue is a very nice darker blue. I’ve worn it for everything from casual to a work meeting, and received a number of compliments. I like the use of natural and renewable but technically excellent materials, along with the craftsmanship.
