Sweaters are versatile, meaning 1 sweater can replace at least 5 pieces of clothes in your closet. We believe sweaters are core to a personal uniform. Our sweaters can handle even the longest work weeks and outlast any sweaters you've bought before.
The clothes we wear have an impact on how we feel throughout the day. Researchers at Northwestern University in 2012 coined this concept as “enclothed cognition”.
Think about it. I bet you have a favorite sweatshirt or pair of pants that make you feel confident, makes you feel like you. It’s clothing that you wish you could wear all the time.
Finding styles you love, upgrading them to last for life, and then repeating is our simple formula. Repeating styles, AKA your "personal uniform", opens up more time for creativity, productivity, and recharging... also it's great for the planet.Read More

We work with the soft underbelly fibers that insulate yak in cold -40° F winters. This fiber is called khullu ("coo-loo"), and it’s some of the best natural fiber money can buy. Not only is khullu warmer and more breathable than lambswool and cashmere, but the fiber is also world-renowned for its antimicrobial properties, meaning it doesn't trap odor like cotton and synthetic materials. Khullu fiber averages 15-20 μm in fineness, which is about 80% finer than human hair. Our Materials
Merino wool is the Swiss Army Knife of the natural fiber world. Merino wool is world-famous for its excellent insulating, sweat-wicking, and odor-resisting properties. Merino wool can absorb 30% of its weight in water and remain dry to touch. Merino can also be bent and flexed 30,000 times before it's damaged. Merino is a durable fiber that protects against the sun's rays, resists wrinkles and pilling, insulates body heat when it's cold, and transports sweat away in the heat. Our Materials
We make our sweaters from yak down, which is the hair they shed naturally in the spring, all the herders do to collect it is simply brush the animals. Merino sheep on the other hand are unable to shed their coat so it is sheared.
Our materials are world renown for their antimicrobial properties. Synthetics and cotton absorb and trap sweat, which allows bacteria and as a result odor to thrive. Khullu and merino don’t let this happen. Instead they are the most efficient materials in the world for moving moisture away from the body, expelling it as vapor into the air.
Thinner diameter fiber, measured in microns, is softer. Khullu and ultra-fine merino fiber averages 15-20 μm in fineness, which is about 80% finer than human hair.
Wool fibers are hollow. The hollow fibers allow the fabric to trap air and insulate the body. Hollow wool fibers are a product of the harsh and extremely cold environments these animals adapted to live in.
Our sweaters are created with a technology called Wholegarment, which allows us to knit in 3-dimensions. Traditionally, sweaters are created by sewing cut fabric parts together that are each knit separately. This causes waste and irritating seams that interfere with stretch and fit. Our process, on the other hand, knits sweaters in one entire piece, creating a more comfortable fit with nearly zero waste.
Our sweaters are made in Brooklyn, New York by Tailored Industry. We work with them to create our sweaters through a new manufacturing process called Wholegarment 3D knitting.
When we were initially designing our sweater, we looked for ways to create a more comfortable fit and reduce waste. Wholegarment manufacturing checked those boxes - instead of sewing cut fabric parts together that are each knit separately, the Wholegarment process knits sweaters in one entire piece without seams, creating a more durable sweater with nearly zero waste.
We chose Tailored Industry vs. other Wholegarment manufacturers in part because of their brand vision. They want to become a platform for on-demand knitwear. We're hoping we can grow together, create all kinds of custom sizes, and eventually remove the need for inventory completely. We'll see!
Yes. Machine wash at a normal or cool temperature. Don't tumble dry. Instead, lay flat to dry out of direct sunlight. Avoid fabric softener or products with bleach.
Pilling is the natural process that occurs when the shorter natural wool fibers work their way to the surface of a sweater. Pilling is normal and expected with any wool piece of clothing, but fear not because there is a tried and true method to manage pilling. The first thing you should do is wash your sweater after the first 4 wears. Throw your sweater in the wash with a pair of jeans, just make sure to close the zippers. Over time, shorter fibers causing pilling will pull away on their own.
Buy a sweater and we'll tell you.
There's only so much we can do alone, and we quickly realized that the clothes/styles/things that make us feel good are deeply personal. We're creating a sweater meant to be central to a personal uniform and last for life. We had to make sure we were creating something people really wanted to not only wear, but wear repeatedly, which is why for the past several months we’ve been co-creating our sweater with our community called the Customer Advisory Board.Co-Create a Sweater
What exactly does the advisory board do?
We send members things in the mail like measuring tapes, yarn and sweater samples, and even sweaters so they can tell us about their perfect fit and put our sweaters to the test. We also jump on Zoom calls with members because, well... faceless brands suck.
At the end of the day, we're learning about what helps our customers feel their best. Instead of us designing alone, we're excited to co-create our first product together through the Customer Advisory Board. Who knows, maybe our 1st advisory board members will even stick around to help us design our 10th product. We hope so.
Love it! Normally I have trouble wearing cloth made from animal fur since I have sensitive skin but this product is so soft and comfortable. It also ideal to wear for many different occasions, whether its relaxing at home or going out to eat. It's very versatile!
My first impression was that the sweater was really beautiful straight out of the packaging tube. The sweater was super soft. It’s super breathable. I have a pretty physical job and at times it got a little hot but overall it’s been a great week of wearing the sweater, and I’m looking forward to wearing it in the future on hikes, out on dates, for job interviews, church or really anywhere!
My sweater from Oliver Charles came, and one of the things I noticed right away was it has a really nice soft feel to it. I think its a real versatile sweater that you can wear with anything. I can wear it with jeans or dress it up with slack. I ordered the charcoal and really love the color
I got to start off by just saying wow, I mean right off right off the bat this is one of the most comfortable sweaters I've ever worn. Within just a couple days of wearing it, it's started to break in and become more and more comfortable. A few things that I really love about this sweater is the vented design in the armpits. It’s actually a different knitting, which makes the sweater more breathable.
I tend to be on either the XL or large side of clothing. I ordered the large, and after receiving the sweater, I’d say it fits like a Euro-large. It's pretty form fit, and I’m going to try going up in size. The Oliver Charles team has been awesome. They're actually shipping me an XL that I'll be trying out, which I honestly think I’ll enjoy just as much.
I just got the sweater and I'm super stoked about it! I'm actually wearing it right now. The sweater's really comfy and my wife loves the way it fits on me. It’s super comfortable, breathable, and I’d wear it pretty much anywhere.
