All of our knitwear is made on-demand in Brooklyn, New York. We're passionate about being part of the solution to reduce waste, which is why we make our products on-demand. This means that your sweater doesn't sit around for months before it reaches you - we start working on it as soon as you place your order!
Since we're creating each piece just for you, it may take a bit longer to receive your order than with traditional fashion brands. On average, it takes 3-6 days to knit your sweater after you place your order, and then shipping can take 2-5 days. But we promise it will be worth the wait! Our slow fashion approach means you're getting a high-quality product that's good for the planet too.

How does the lifetime repair guarantee work?
Our sweaters are a timeless design meant to last in your closet. If your Oliver Charles sweater becomes damaged from holes, snagged threads, or pilling at any time, send it back and we'll restore it to the best of our abilities!

Will it pill?
Pilling is the natural process that occurs when the shorter natural wool fibers work their way to the surface of a sweater.
Pilling is normal and expected with any wool piece of clothing, but fear not because there is a tried and true method to manage pilling.
The first thing you should do is wash your sweater after the first 4 wears. Throw your sweater in the wash with a pair of jeans, just make sure to close the zippers. Over time, shorter fibers causing pilling will pull away on their own.

I love this dress! The only thing missing is pockets. Although pockets may interfere with the shape and flow. Very comfortable, very adaptable to body temperature and shoulder size (I have wide shoulders). Not itchy at all. Goes well with my Oliver Charles 100% khullu cardigan! Hard not to buy a different color! This color is awesome as a canvas for long necklaces (took mine off before picture 😒), scarves, belts, etc.

I have been a fan of Oliver Charles for quite a while now, and have liked everything I’ve gotten thus far. But, this time - THIS time, I am in LOVE with this item! I have worn The Dress all day every day for a week. I live in Minnesota, so we get all the seasons in a week and this week did not disappoint. So I gave it a good test run. I wore it to work, walking for exercise, to church, and hanging out with friends and family. This dress was fantastic throughout the week in all the weather (except when it hit 80 - see earlier posts).
I hadn’t tried anything in the charcoal yet, and I was waffling between it and the navy. The charcoal was a great choice! It’s a really nice dark grey that goes great with almost any accessory - search up my name to check out pictures of this dress with multiple colors of scarves, shoes, boots, necklaces and jackets. It is the perfect palate for whatever your event or accessory calls for - dress up, down or let it stand alone. The fit is perfect - it hits me just above the knee, which is where I like it. It is fitted without being snug in the places I want it to be fitted, and has some give and space where this middle aged woman wants a little space. The skirt swings without being so full it gets in the way, and it doesn’t blow around because it’s the perfect weight to keep it in place - it’s been pretty windy with all the weather changes this week. The neckline covers enough to keeps me warm, but provides for a little space for a short necklace. And the edge of the neck lays beautifully.
The sleeves were a bit snug when I first put it on, but I knew from experience that would relax. They did and are a comfortable, but form fitted sleeve. I cannot easily push the sleeves up over my elbows (which I never wanted to do, but someone might). However, when I pushed them up TO my elbows to wash dishes, they popped back into shape perfectly when I pulled them back down. I did not have to wash it to get the sleeves to retake their shape. This means I could wear it easily and smoothly from one activity to another and The Dress always looked great. The sleeves hit me right at my wrist bone - just like on the model in The Dress on their site. I tend to prefer sleeves about an inch or so longer, but I know that is a preference, and it is important to some and not to others. I wore The Dress with leggings almost every day. And, it doesn’t ride up on my wool leggings like some fabrics do. This is a HUGE bonus. I don’t know what to tell you if you are still wearing plastic leggings. I only have these wool ones from a different company.
Today, I washed it for the first time, because it was showing some initial pilling, and because I wanted to include a washing in my final review. (That’s me in my marled sweater waiting for it to dry.) In all of our OC sweater experiences, the initial pilling is all it is. Sometimes, there’s some pilling left after the first wash, but even that seems to wear off after a short while and does not return. I washed it with a pair of jeans on gentle. It has been hanging to dry for several hours. I’m going to check on it. SO I just slipped it on. It is a light enough fabric to dry fairly quickly. The pilling is virtually gone. I did fuss for a minute with the hem while it was still wet, and it dried beautifully. And, I admit - I did try to stretch the sleeves a bit, while it was wet. If you look at a photo from earlier in the week and one from just now off the drying rack, you can see that it worked. That’s probably not officially recommended, but there you go. It is now the length I prefer. No promises on that and individual experiences may vary.
Overall, I give this dress 6 out of 5 stars! This is their best item yet, as far as I can tell - and I know this dress is going to get a lot of wear in the coming years.

It fits great I could have sized down to Medium I think. I LOVE, LOVE the sage green color. I love it with my blue jeans but could totally dress it up with a nice skirt or black slacks. I love that it’s made with yak wool, that it will last and it’s washable.
