Benefits Of Taking A Clothing Challenge

Every week, we'll post helpful new sustainable and capsule clothing challenges for you to take on your own and support you as you declutter and simplify your wardrobe. Our goal is to post 50 challenges in the next 12 months.

At the end of each challenge, reflect on what worked well, what you would you do differently, and if you have any advice or photo inspiration for others, please share it!


7x7 Challenge

7 pieces, mix and matched for 7 days to create 7 different outfits.

  • Audit your closet. Find 7 "go-to" versatile pieces to mix and match.
  • Plan your outfits. Add color to pop and fun accessories to elevate.
  • Wear 1 of your planned outfits each day for the next 7 days.

Color Palette Challenge

Curate a color palette based on your personal style and stick to it. Keep all your basics in neutral shades and add up to 3 accent colors and a few patterns if desired.

  • Define your personal style and why you love to wear certain outfits.
  • Audit your closet. Build a color palette, including 5 monochromatic + complimentary colors.
  • Plan 5 outfits that mix and match the 5 core colors you'll wear for the challenge. 
  • Wear 1 of your planned outfits each day for the next 5 days.

Time Traveler Challenge

"Travel back in time" and live in a past decade of style. Try to do it for 3 days at least!

  • Determine your favorite decade of style and imagine youself in the clothes from the period.
  • Look through your closet to see what items you already own that fit into that decade of style.
  • For the best results, go to Google Images, look up the decade of style you’re trying to match.
  • Plan as many outfits as you can that mirror that fashion from the decade you selected.
  • Thrifting can help, but try to piece outfits together from what you already own!
