Keeps up with the parenting chaos

I am always looking for ways to minimize my wardrobe while maximizing my outfit options. I try to be a responsible consumer and prefer environmentally friendly options, which often means wearing what I already own and supporting companies that are mindful of their environmental impact. To that end, it is often difficult for me to find lasting pieces that go with what I already have. I need clothes that are resilient, soft, and move with me throughout the day as a toddler mom. I also need clothes that are soft and feel good to manage my overwhelming sensory input throughout the day. I was skeptical that I could wear this all seven days without a wash. With the amount of moving and sticky hands, usually my shirts are begging for a wash by the end of the day, if they make it that long. After completing the challenge, I was pleasantly surprised with the sweater's ability to hold its shape, not smell, and easily remove toddler gunk with a wuick baby wipe. I was also amazed that I wanted to keep wearing the sweater. I realized the unique 3D printed nature of the sweater was a beautiful surprise for my sensory needs - the lack of seams made this sweater especially cozy and easy to keep reaching for it. I appreciated how versatile the sweater was and how I didn't get bored with finding variety in my outfit. It was awesome to have one less decision to make every day. It really helped my anxiety and decision fatigue. It also looks great and makes me feel confident. I would recommend this sweater to anyone looking to simplify their wardrobe, cut down on decisions, and be comfortable and confident in their lives. It is an awesome 'mom sweater' - you can wear it with anything from sweats to jeans to a dress, abd it keeps up with the parenting chaos.

Love that it didn't have seams

I loved that this sweater didn't have seams, which tend to irritate my skin. The sweater was initially a little itchy, however at the end of the challenge it was soft and not bothersome at all. I love that even after wearing it for over 24 hours it didn't smell or appear wrinkled! The sweater is a nice weight and has a flattering fit.

This could have been custom made!

I have kept my wardrobe simple for years, simple but never marginal. And I learned long ago that artificial fibres just don't feel as good, last as long, or hang on the body the same way. So a recent frustration was when I ordered a "merino" v-neck sweater online, without carefully checking the fine print, and ended up with one that was 48% acrylic! My fault, I guess. Anyway, I was thrilled to get one that is 75% merino and 25% khullu rather than acrylic, and made in the US rather than China. It is so much softer, springier, and importantly, warmer! It also fits wonderfully. I have a 34" sleeve size and the men's Large is perfect, unlike many foreign-made garments. The shoulders are right and the sleeves come just to my wrists, neither to short nor too long. This could have been custom made! I didn't know I was so boringly average :^)

The sweater fits me really well and it feels soft to the skin

I’m fairly experienced with natural sweaters and own merino, cashmere, and even an alpaca blend. I think my main concerns going into this were:
1) unisex size/shape- would it fit funny, or be uncomfortable? Would the sleeves be too long?
Turns out no! As promised, it confirmed to me, the sleeves are not ape-length, and it did not bind in my armpits as some tops/sweaters do bc of my shoulders. It looks good on me!
2) Would it itch? I’ve had “itch free” sweaters that still itch.
Nope! The texture is not irritating AT ALL. It’s not yummy-soft like cashmere, but not rough at all either. It’s a smooth knit and I love that it’s seamless!
3) Hearing there’s some pilling, I wondered how much.
It’s minimal, and while I haven’t yet got the “jeans in the dryer” trick worked out, the color and texture camouflage them so only I notice.
4) Could I REALLY find ways to wear it 7 days?
Yes. And, it was a mix of real life that included date night, work days, road tripping, and outdoor adventuring in the snow. It worked to dress it up, it worked athletically, it worked casually.
I have a hand-wash setting on my little pedestal washer that I use for my other merino and cashmere, and plan to use it for this then air dry. However, airing it out has allowed me not to need that yet, even after 7 days straight.
As someone who hates laundry, loves quality, and appreciates a capsule wardrobe staple, I’m really glad I decided to do this.
Now to find a way to get a couple more items!

Lightweight but warm

The merino/yak blend is very soft. The sweater is lightweight but warm. It came out of the wash looking great, held its shape so air drying was easy. It will definitely be in the regular rotation and I look forward to packing it for the next vacation. There is definitely another Oliver Charles sweater in my future. My bust measurements said I would be ok in a Large, but opted I for the XLarge as I wanted the ability to layer. My only improvement to this sweater would be that there actually be a women’s version that takes away some of the overall length and sleeve length. I am taller, but this sweater’s length and sleeves would easily accommodate someone over 6” without a problem.

Love that there is no seams

Very nice quality, love that there is no seams. I felt like it is true to size without being baggy or clingy. Very cozy sweater I wear outside every morning when it cool outside. I do get a little hot about the 60-65 degree range depending on what I’m doing. I ordered the undyed color which was pretty, the grey/brown is very neutral. I usually just wear with joggers in the morning but have also wore with black pant to the office and with denim shorts. I was very intrigued by the material and the 3D knitting. Your article on the ethical treatment of yak really spoke to me.

Controls odor

I like the feel, the warmth and the color (dark grey?). Kept we warm in 50 deg weather. I also like that it is supposed to last so I don't have to have 20 sweaters. It also controls odor. I sweated in it and could still wear it the next day. I will be purchasing another this fall. As soon as the summer ones are v-neck I will be buying one or two of those also.

Remarkably, never stinky

This Oliver Charles sweater was cloud soft right out of the adorable canvas bag. Never itchy and, remarkably, never stinky after wearing for a week! Temperature varies from about 20° to 80° over the week and I was warm when I needed to be warm and not hot while walking when it was hot out. I’d definitely buy another of these all season sweaters for me and for my daughter for our upcoming Arctic trip!

It did not stink

I wanted to see if I could wear something 7 days in a row - I did get a little tired of it after a few days and wouldn't have wanted to outfit repeatr if I had to work daily in an office. However, for travel it is great because you can change up your look with scarves, jewelry, vests, jackets, etc. and get a new look each day.

I also am interested in creating a capsule wardrobe for travel. This sweater will be a great addition to my packing list.

I was skeptical that this sweater wouldn't hold odors. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it did not stink, even though I did get warm and sweat in it some days.

I would recommend OC sweaters to anyone looking to streamline their travel wardrobe, especially for a cooler climate.
